Getting to know Vera of doodlebugzmom...

Introduce yourself.
My name is Vera, otherwise known as doodlebugzmom on eBay or Etsy. My husband and I have 3 children and we live in New Mexico.

How long have you been a Boutique Angel?
I've been a Boutique Angel since the very beginning of the group. sidenote: The group started in October 2004

Do you belong to any other Ebay/Etsy groups?
I don't belong to any other selling groups on eBay at the moment. I am a new member of the Independent Boutique Designers on Etsy. I love the group atmosphere, comradere, and launches that you get from a group but, I had to take some time away from eBay while my family moved across the country last summer. I've just started getting back to the eBay chat boards and the upcoming Boutique Angels launch will be my 1st new listing since the move.

Tell us something interesting about yourself and/or your family? (Silly or serious).
My husband and I grew up 1 street apart in Louisiana never knowing each other because he is 9 years older than I am. We met at the local newspaper where we both worked. We have moved from Louisiana to New Mexico to Massachusetts and now back to New Mexico with his job as a circulation director. I think we are done moving!

We have 3 children, Miranda who is 21, Jordan who is 15, and Lily who is 4. Lily is our little angel from heaven and a complete surprise baby. She keeps us hopping. Miranda, our oldest, has a sweet baby girl named Anna Grace who is 14 months old.

On a different note - not really silly or serious. We have chimes named after our family. Whittington chimes. So the next time you hear church bell chimes or a clock chiming try to notice if they are Whittington chimes or Westminster chimes.

What are your hobbies?
Designing childrens clothing of course! I love everything related to sewing. I started doing embroidery when I was just a little girl and that turned into hand smocking a lot of my daughters clothing years later. My grandmother taught me to sew, crochet, embroider, quilt......you name it and she taught it to me if I was interested. My mother was very talented also and I learned to cook from her.

I also love reading but rarely have the chance lately.

I am also a major remodeling freak where my house is concerned. Nothing will be left unchanged if I have any say in the matter. I love doing weekend projects around the house with my family - The 3 Stooges Remodeling Crew ; ) We bought what I call the Brady Bunch house. Think 1970's all the way. This one is going to keep me busy for a while! LOL

What is one thing you hope to do, but haven't done yet?
I would really love to travel to Europe. I am of Irish and German descent so I would love to see those countries. Plus, all of Great Britain, France, and Italy.

Can you tell us your favorite quote?
I just saw this on a sign outside a business the other day and thought to myself how true it was.

"You live life with reasons or results."

Of course - I prefer results! That's my quote of the moment LOL.

Do you have a website and/or blog?
I do have a website - Doodlebug Lane.
http://www.doodlebuglane.com

Anything else you would like to say?
I am truly proud to be a Boutique Angel and have the chance to touch children's lives. We have the chance to be better people because of this wonderful group.

Any pictures you'd like to share...
Well, of course!

Lily

Jordan caught a fish across the street from our house
and had to bring it home to show it off.
The fish went back to the lake and survived.
